What it's like

The Palconf take on ADM Montreal 2026

ADM Montréal is Québec's main advanced-manufacturing trade show, packing six areas — Packaging, Automation, Design, Plastics, Processing and Battery Manufacturing — into two days at the Palais des congrès. Packaging is the largest zone by a clear margin, with automation second. Global suppliers such as Schneider Electric, KUKA Robotics and Beckhoff exhibit alongside a deep base of Québec integrators and distributors, which makes this a practical floor for technical evaluation rather than high-level strategy.

The audience is regional and industrial. Around 87% of attendees come from Québec and 9% from Ontario, and past editions have drawn engineering, maintenance and plant-operations teams from manufacturers including Bombardier, CAE, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Hydro-Québec, Agropur and Cascades. At roughly 3,300 attendees against 250-270 exhibitors, traffic per booth runs high for a show this size, and nine in ten attendees report meeting suppliers they didn't previously know.

Temper expectations on reach. This is not a national or cross-border show — only about 2% of attendees travel from the US. Come for depth in the Québec market, not breadth.

The verdict

ADM Montréal is a compact regional buying show. Roughly 3,300 attendees walk a floor of about 250-270 exhibitors — close to a 12:1 visitor-to-exhibitor ratio, which is high traffic per stand for a two-day event. The audience is overwhelmingly local: 87% come from Québec and another 9% from Ontario, and past editions have drawn plant, maintenance, automation and process-engineering teams from Québec's aerospace, food-and-beverage, energy and consumer-goods manufacturers. Nine in ten attendees said the show helped them meet companies they hadn't known before, so the floor rewards exhibitors who can explain a system quickly to a technical evaluator.

Best for

  • Automation, packaging and machinery vendors selling into Québec manufacturers
  • Suppliers who want dense buyer traffic in two days without a national travel budget
  • Integrators and engineering-services firms sourcing OEM partners
  • Plant, maintenance and process engineers scoping equipment

Temper expectations

  • Teams that need a US or pan-Canadian audience — only about 2% of attendees come from the States
  • Pure software vendors with no plant-floor or hardware tie-in
  • Investors or founders looking for venture dealflow

How to work the floor

Your game plan

  1. 1['Packaging is the single biggest zone — about 37% of exhibitors in 2024, ahead of automation at 25%. Budget your time there accordingly, and expect the most competition for attention.', 'Route by the six show areas: Packaging, Automation, Design, Plastics, Processing and Battery Manufacturing each cluster separately.', 'Bring someone technical. Attendee titles skew heavily to plant, maintenance, automation and process engineering, and spec questions come up fast.', '67 speakers across 40+ hours of programming thins the floor during keynotes — book your highest-value meetings outside the session blocks.', 'Expect French. With nearly nine in ten attendees coming from Québec, bilingual booth staff and French one-pagers land better than English-only.', 'The floor is compact by trade-show standards. Do one scouting pass before committing to long booth conversations.']
